My Favorite Books

I think people’s favorite books say a lot about who they are as a person, so in an effort to allow you all to get to know me better I thought I’d share a list of some of my favorite books. Now, this isn’t going to be all of them because one, I know I’ll probably leave some out, and two, that would be a really long list. I quite enjoy most of the things I read. Anyway, I’ll stop rambling and just get into it.

  1. So B. It by Sarah Weeks- I first read this book in elementary school, and I still think about it to this day. A book that has an impression that long lasting deserves to be on a favorites list.
  2. Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes- This is a super quick read, but it’s so emotional, and very well thought out. I loved this book so much.
  3. Illuminae by Amie Kaufman- If you haven’t read this book go read it right now! It was so interesting, and way different from anything I’ve ever read. Not only was the storyline unique, but the way it’s written as well. The entire book is made up of interviews, texts, documents, emails, etc. I highly recommend this book.
  4. The Book Thief by Markus Zusak- Where do I even begin to talk about this book? First let me say that I bawled my eyes out while reading it, and that is always a sign that I will love a book. What can I say? I love books that make me feel.
  5. Sold by Patricia McCormick- This book was so intriguing. It’s about a Nepali girl who is sold into prostitution and her thoughts along the way. It was heartbreaking. I must pick it up again soon.
  6. The Host by Stephanie Meyer- I love this book so much because it got me back into reading after a two year reading slump. It’s really long, and has some slow parts, but it’s all worth it in the end.
  7. The Program by Suzanne Young- I thought the concept was very fascinating, and again, I bawled my eyes out multiple times while reading this book. Sadly, the second book in the series was no where near as good.

I’ll leave the list at that. As I said before, this isn’t all of my favorites. Actually, it’s no where near all of my favorites, but it’s a good start. I think it’s pretty obvious that I love emotional reads. What’s the point of reading if you aren’t feeling anything from it?

Well, that’s all I have for today! Thank you so much for reading, and I hope you enjoyed!

  1. Of those on your list, I’ve only read The Host – I remember reading it when I was still in the midst of high school exams and really enjoyed it. I would really struggle to come up with a shortlist of my absolute favourite books, but Anne of Green Gables would be up there (I still remember receiving the first three in the series from a friend for my birthday years ago) and Jodi Picoult’s Handle with Care is one of my all-time favourites.
